Esme's cheeks had flushed again as she looked down at the table obviously a tad uncomfortable with his compliments as her hands promptly came to take her wine glass raiseing it up to meet his before taking a long deep sip. "Thank you for bringing me." She whispered gently as she finally made eye contact with him. She sat in silence until their meal was brought to them smiling and thanking the waitor as she happily surveyed her simple meal compared to his much more interesting one.

Gabe couldn't help but watch as she compared their meals and he chuckled as he sipped his wine. "Would you like a bite?" he asked, gesturing to his plate. "I wouldn't mind in the slightest if you do." he wasn't surprised to see her order something fairly simple, but simplicity seemed to be far superior to most elegant and immaculate things, he'd come to notice. He'd courted and taken the most prominent men's wives to bed, and none of them had captivated him as much as Esmeralda Echo did, and she was neither prominent in society, nor a man's wife. Well not that he knew.

"Thank you." Esme beamed as she lent forward taking a fresh fork and taking a small bite of his meal. It was exquisite but she had to admit she was more fond of her simple meal. "It's gorgeous." She commented with a bright smile returning and settleing her fork down and instead with her meal lifting up the pitta bread with the chicken breast in with her hands and taking a bite careful for the chicken and salad not to fall out. "You must woo all the women in this little place." She smiled her words teaseing a true curiosity behind them.

Gabe let out a soft chuckled as his mind instantly went over the list of women he knew to be employed here. "No, I don't believe I've courted anyone here, but one can never know." he replied, smiling at her gently. "Although I could name a few people who probably have." A light laugh escaped his pink lips and he took a long sip of wine before taking a bite of his meal, savouring the flavours; he would have to tip the cook.

Esme smiled gently at him with a soft chuckle. "Your one of these men who know everyone," She commented simply as she watched him carefully her words as always blunt and to the point. "And everyone thinks they know you to... but they don't. They don't know you at all." She whispered glanceing away from him down to her plate taking another bite of her meal hopeing she hadn't insulted him.

The wizard smiled across from her; how much did this woman know of him, anyway? "Right you are," he muttered, taking another bite of his chicken. After chasing it with wine, he said, "I'm sure one could say the same for you." Of course, he meant his words as a compliment, the smile that graced his face ensuring the fact. But the way she entranced him and seemed to be bland and ordinary to the rest of the world utterly astounded him. Couldn't they see it, too?

"Perhaps once," She chuckled gently yes years ago she was probably that person. "Not now though," She smiled up at him brightly. "I'm an open book, not that I know anyone." She laughed continueing with her meal. "You like to think you know everyone to," She smirked up at him obviously enjoying this game.

Gabrielle chuckled and lifted his glass to his lips. "Touchet." he whispered simply before downing the remainder of his wine and refilling his glass. "More for you?" he asked, extending the wine bottle and moving to add some to her glass. "Unless you have classes early tomorrow. Mine don't start till noon, thank Merlin."

"The Echo charm - hangovers are quite nonexistant." She chuckled happily taking a sip of her wine soon finishing her meal. She paused for a long moment looking up at him. "Now, why did you bring me here?" She questioned obviously expecting the wine will have got him to give an honest answer.

He smiled and took a sip of wine. "Well, I knew where this was, knew it wasn't quite as up-tight as Le Foux, and ... Well, you are the one who agreed to dinner, so you should have a little say-so in the matter, don't you think?" he replied, his own words astonishing him; they were true. Gabe had planned on saying something clever like 'oh I thought you might like this more' or 'they have great food, so why not?' but instead it was simply the truth.

Esme smiled brightly at him having expected something cheesy she raised her wine glass to her lips. "Not what I mean." She whispered gently. "Although a very good answer none the less, what I meant was what are you actually doing taking me on a date?" She whispered ever the blunt and to the point.

"Yes." he answered simply, utterly shocked he'd once again blurted out an honest answer. He set his wine glass down, mentally noting not to drink any more. "Yes, I was, but if you don't want it classed as such, than it doesn't have to be." Gabrielle was ... quite sure he'd drunk enough for the night and moved to check his watch. "Oh, goodness. It's later than I thought." he said, truly shocked at how late it was. 10:46.

Esme rose up from her seat looping her arm back with him watching him carefuly. So it was a date. She didn't say another word on the subject not wanting to ruin a perfectly good evening. She couldn't quite understand why out of all the female staff he had chosen her for a date perhaps she looked an easy target. "I had a lovely time Gabrielle thank you." She whispered as they left the cafe,

The wizard returned her smile with one of his own, his glimmering white teeth shining almost unnaturally. "You're quite welcome, Esmeralda." he replied softly, jogging them across the street. "Now, we either go straight back to the castle gates, or we go to Hogsmeade and walk back. Your choice." Gabe smiled, not particularly sure which way he would rather her choose. Both gave him adequate time to think of some reason to get in her rooms, and, hopefully, her bed.

"Perhaps back to the gates I do have lessons in the morning." She smiled vanishing with a faint pop reappering infront of the gates waiting for him. Smiling brightly when he arrived she looped her arm with his again as they headed up to the school. "Thank you." She whispered again not able to express it enough.
