Esmeralda slipped into her dearest friends office. It was hard to speak with him having always been very open minded Esme was extremely open with her political views regardless of how dangerous it was to be in these times. For someone so open for them to seen talking with the enemy - Severus Snape who was acting as the polar opposite to her ideals raised far to much suspision. She knew this was all very hard on him and had indeed in the past few weeks tried to assure she was there for her friend as much as possible. But tonight she had a different agenda.
She had always had a very 'open book' rule with her friends which meant she could enter rooms without knocking and the like which could be both endearing as it was an utter sign of her trust and terribly annoying. "Sevvie I have a question." She spoke as she closed the door behind her making her way to his desk where he was still working himself into a early grave. She didn't even notice her common use of his childhood nickname. "What do you know of Gabrielle Ivy?" She questioned straight and to the point as brash, straight talking Esme always was.

Severus looked up when his life long friend bursted into his office, “Esme! Have you completely gone out of your mind?! There could have been people here!” He scolded her softly thankful though that none of the Death Eater’s running around the school was in his office at the time.
He listen to her question, his mind searching for the name Gabrielle Ivy, snapping instantly to a well known Death Eater of that name, “Merlin, Emms! You sure do know how to pick them don’t you?” He groaned and rubbed his forehead, this wasn’t good.

It was a well known fact Esme had perhaps the worst ever taste in men it was certainly her largest downfall. She had, had it all - abusive men, cheaters, liers, those merely useing her for sex, money or high status, drug addicts, control freaks and it seemed everytime she got her heart broken she managed to find another who would lead her for a while to believe she was finally on the right tracks before destroying her. "I know how tolook aafter myself Sev don't you worry about me." She assured him gently on his words that anyone could have been in his office.
Her face instantly changed at his next words and his groan. Truly that bad... she had expected something bad but bad enough to make him react so it must be nothing short of terrible. She perched herself down infront of him concern obvious on her pale face. "He asked me to dinner..." She explained gently having always trusted her friend with everything. "After being terribly rude to me and then helping me when I fell down the stairs and twisted my ankle." She explained knowing Severus was well aware of how clumsy she was.

“I know that, Em, but you got to be more careful before bursting into here, I never know when there might be some form of inspection or whatnot.” Severus sighed in frustration, running his hand through his dark hair. He needed her here he couldn’t take the chance of losing her.
“He’s a Death Eater, Emms, among the inner circle and to make matters worse he’s also a womanizer. I strongly advise against it” He looked at concerned, “I cannot stop you from seeing him, but please if you do be careful.”

Esme couldn't help but sit deeply shocked as she eyed her frend not for a moment thinking him lieing - she always knew with Severus and he was by far the best lier she had ever met. She trusted his word above all others. "A death eater..." She whispered wondering how on earth she had managed to do this again. But the day before he had seen so kind happily helping her back to her rooms despite her insults and snaps. "Are you sure Severus? He might not be a death eater now... we all do terrible things when we're younger." She whispered not at all sure why she was so bothered knowing full well she should just take the information and refuse dinner with the odd man - but something about him compelled her, made her want to know more about him and understand him.
