It was just days after Christmas Vacation had ended and the current dinner feast was being served. The tables were lined with students, most blind-sighted to the dangers they could be in. Snow appeared to fall from the magicked roof, adding a sense of wonder to the school.
Destrane made his way down the Slytherin table, grabbing a seat where the fewest students sat. He wasn't social, he made it clear. True, girls fawned over him when he paid attention but he had never once looked for someone to go out with. His expression was calm and relaxed as he looked around..
The school rules were as strict as ever but students were allowed to move from table to table during the actual meal times. A lot of students from the other houses, save Gryffindor, seemed to converse more with the Slytherins. Perhaps it was to get in favor with the darker wizards and witches that now ruled the school, perhaps it was something else. Destrane wasn't sure, nor did he care.

Christmas vacation ended, and Desiree had returned from visiting her parents at home in Moscow. She wasn't wearing her uniform, knowing she wouldn't have to until the semester started again. At the moment as she made her way to the empty end of the Ravenclaw table, Desiree was wearing a pair of black jeans with a baby blue, long sleeved t-shirt that had the words "Meet me on the Devil's playground...." written on it in a black, gothic-type font. Her black, biker-type boots completed the ensemble, and her hair was left to hang freely, framing her face to give her a darkened look.
Sitting down, a plate of food and a goblet of pumpkin juice appeared before her, but she grabbed the goblet and pushed the plate away. She wasn't hungry at all, having brought back plenty of goodies from home in Russia and was sent stuff from her grandparents in Italy and Germany, her favorites being the box of little liquor-filled chocolate barrels from Germany. So, she wasn't hungry at all as she gazed around the Great Hall, noticing that the Slytherin tables seemed awfully full, but she had a pretty good idea why, not that she was up for discussing though.
