(back to the old stand by for min threads... for me at least)
Over the last few months days seemed to get longer and longer with every day Albus was gone and the school changed more and more. Even the students who hadn't been effected by much... yet had begun to notice. Most of all the Gryffindors. They knew Transfigurations was one class not to misbehave in but after that announcement Severus had made last night after dinner at a Staff Meeting Minerva had decided punishing the kids for things that didn't deserve what they would get wasn't worth it. She wasn't about to send a first year to the Headmaster's office for merely talking.
As she lent back against a tree feeling a tentical from the Giant Squid come up her shoulder she pushed it off sighing. This was horrible. The school was going all to hell.

Desiree was making her way out to the lake, her black robe fluttering out behind her in the breeze created by her brisk pace. Her whiskey amber eyes looked like golden honey in the light of the sun. She reached the lake and found her rock - a large boulder half buried by the lakeshore - and sat down, bringing her knees up and wrapping her arms around them.
The changes that had come upon Hogwarts since the death of Headmaster Dumbledore had - more or less - had no real effect on her. Desiree seemed to continue to get on with her daily life as if nothing had happened. Of course, it was a well known fact that her parents were huge supporters of the Dark Lord as were the rest of her family.
Out of the corner of her eye, Desiree caught sight of the giant squid surfacing and looked to see Prof. McGonagall. However, she wasn't really in the conversing mood, so she didn't approach the professor, but instead turned her attention back out over the lake, gazing at it as if she were trying to see past the surface into its deepest, darkest depths.

Feeling the tentical come back up Minerva pushed it off again. Throwing a rock into the water she didn't even notice Desiree walk up she was so absorbed in her thoughts. The entire reason half the staff decided to stay after Albus' death was for the students. They didn't deserve all this that was coming to them. Unlike the last time when Umbridge had been in charge the students couldn't catch 'Snapeitis' and go to the Hospital Wing. None of it would work this time.
They needed Albus back, or at the very least a different Headmaster. Already Minerva had seen Death Eaters running about the castle. It would only be a matter of time before there were more Death Eaters than professors and students. The inspections would keep coming as well and she knew it.

Desiree watched the professor throw a rock into the water after the squid tried to tentacle her again. She kept her eyes on the woman for a moment before standing and walking over to her.
"Hello Prof. McGonagall, and how are you today?" she asked, her voice gentle, totally belying her true inner nature. The darkness that inhabited Desiree came not only from the teachings and ideals that her parents and family instilled in her but also from something that had inhabited her from an early age - something dark, evil, and........demonic. Too look at Desiree from the outside, though, one would never be able to tell it, for she looked as normal as a human could look. Even the professors didn't know about it. Well, one did - Prof. Snape. And, the Dark Lord knew about it, of course. But, no one else.

Minerva was snapped from her thoughts by the girl's voice, "Ms Jerico." She said crisply trying not to let Albus return to her thoughts, or what was happening to Hogwarts. It wouldn't be long before the students started to notice thing, "You shouldn't be out here. It's nearly past the time for all the students to be in their common rooms and you know the new rules Professor Snape," She nearly spat out the name, "put in place this morning."

Desiree scoffed inwardly, knowing she would never do it blatantly to a professor's face. "Yes, professor, I remember them very well, but I figured that I'd make the most of what time I do have left," she replied, keeping her demeanor as pleasant as possible. "So, what brings you out here professor?" she asked, her eyes wandering up to the castle before falling back on the professor.

"Hogwarts." She said not even moving her gaze from where she watched the water, "Knowing the new 'regime' you'll be in trouble for even being a few minutes late. You best get moving Ms Jericho. You won't want one of the Unforgivables cast on you."

Once again....another inward scoff. The Unforgivables didn't scare Desiree; well, all but one didn't. The Avada Kedavra curse was enough to scare anyone. But the others, they didn't bother her in the least bit at all. Besides, she was in the good graces of those who used them most often, but knowing it was best to keep up appearances with those outside those good graces, Desiree conceded.
"As you wish professor, and no, I wouldn't want one of those dreadful curses placed upon me," she stated, and with that, Desiree turned swiftly - her robes flourishing behind her - and stalked gracefully back to the castle, a million things running through her mind, like what the wizarding world will be like when the Dark Lord takes full control and his regime reins supreme.
