Destrane stumbled into the bathroom connected to his room. Blood stained his pale skin and tears blended with his injury, causing a horrid sting to form. He had failed a mission, it was impossible to imagine, but it had happened.
The little boy was miserable and it wasn't his father's punishment that hurt most of all. He saw himself as a failure now and it pulled down his already fragile spirit.

Aston ran into the bathroom only minutes after her brother, immediately rushing around the room to grab the items necessary to fix her brother's face. This was not the first time either of them had been hurt, and it just came naturally now. She moved to his side, turning on the sink and dropping a rag into the hot water filling the sink. She grasped his hand. pushing it aside. "Let me see it." She demanded, giving him no room to argue.

His eyes flashed to her face as he pulled back slightly. No further complaint, however, was made as he gazed at her sadly.
"I failed daddy," he murmured softly, wincing as it hurt to speak. Tears continued to leak down the boy's face as he looked to his sister pleadingly.

Aston sighed, rolling her eyes. She hated it when Des called him daddy, he was just a sperm donor in her opinion, he was anything but a father to them. A slave driver, an abusive guardian, but a father he was not. She took the rag soaked with hot water from the sink and gently pressed it to the cut on her brother's face. She took one of his hands and rested it over the rag for him to hold it there while she turned away and into a medicine box in the corner.
She pulled out a sleeping drought and another draft for pain. She then pulled a needle and thread from the cabinet as well. Since it was a magical wound, she could not heal it. The only way to do it was the muggle way. She pulled out another drought and handed it to her brother that would numb the side of her face.

Destrane took the cloth silently, holding it in place. It wasn't long before the fabric was stained red. He had noticed her look and let out a small sigh. The boy knew no better, he wasn't allowed to be around their mother and so the Dark Lord and Bella were all he knew. It wasn't a great combination but he didn't complain.
"Thank you," he murmured after a moment, his tears dried up, expression full of relief now.

When she was finished stitching the cut, she threw the needle away and cleaned up the little bit of blood that had spilled while she was stitching up the injury. She then threw the cloth away as well and drained the sink, turning on the water to wash out all the red residue. She handed her brother both of the other vials in her hands.
She sighed, washing her hands before looking at her brother. "Why do you deal with him?" She asked. For a ten year old, Aston was extremely intelligent and mature beyond her years.

He let out a small laugh, moving to help her put things away. Still a bit numb, and now holding the various vials, he couldn't do too much. His gaze was strictly on her as he smiled weakly at his twin.
"He's my father and my protecter, that's why, Aston," his voice was hourse from the crying and screaming he did earlier.

Aston sighed, looking at her brother with a skeptical look. "Would your protector do this to you?" She asked, gesturing to the wounded side of his face. "And I know what you're going to say, that you deserve to be punished. Des, punishment is groundation, having things taken away, maybe a slap to the face. This is abuse." She snapped, watching her brother with harsh eyes. "He tries to do that shit to me and I swear to whatever God there is out there, one of us will die."

He listened to her silently. She had valid points but what was he to speak against the Dark Lord? Destrane shook his head. "That's how mother would teach you a lesson, yea? Grounding and maybe a small slap?" The boy wasn't foretunate to be pulled away from her.

"Yes, that's how mother taught me. This that....he's doing is madness." She refused to call him father, all the loathing in her heart refused to let her. She turned away from her brother, straightening her skirt. "If she does this to you again, Des, I will kill him. You can count on that." She snapped, fondling a string on her skirt. She sighed, shoulders sagging slightly.

Sighing, Destrane put the objects down. He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug, careful of his face. His eyes closed as he smiled weakly. "What would I do without you, sis?" He smirked at her playfully, trying to lighten the mood.

Aston smiled slightly, a forced smile but a smile none the less. She rested her hands over her brother's, sighing heavily. "Probably be better off." She responded, before turning to look at him. She touched the good side of his face, rubbing it gently with her thumb.

He closed his eyes before laughing lightly. "See, I'm all better now." Glancing around, Destrane smirked at her wickedly before bolting from the room to run down the halls. Obviously he had the energy to play tag...though at a time like this? Who knew with him.

Aston sighed, running after him. down the halls. Her bare feet padded over the wood floor as she ran, sliding on a rug as she went to turn, but she quickly regained her balance. She giggled to herself, pulling herself up and running after Des once more.

Destrane glanced back at her before bolting again. He ran up the stairs to the higher levels, dodging passed the stupid death eaters that watched on in surprise. "Come on, you can do better than that," he called back to her teasingly.
